My current "dieting" tips

Hey guys!

So upon request, I'm sharing my current "dieting" tips but in all honestly, dieting isn't really my thing. In the past, I've done many diets that aren't really sustainable. I mean, I think we all have. It just wasn't working for me. I'd lose weight, then gain it all back. Relatable? So, a couple years back, I decided to make small lifestyle changes that I still practice today. Now, for full disclosure, I am not an expert but just wanted to share the things I have been doing over the years that have kept me "healthy" and the weight off.

1) Drink lots of water

I usually try to stay away from sugary juices and pop & stick to plain old water. This is one of the key things that has really kept the extra pounds off. I really depend on my Hydrate Spark water bottle. I tend to "forget" to drink my water throughout the day and what I mean by "forget" is that I hate the plain taste of water. The water bottle glows red when it's time to drink up. It's exactly what I need to keep hydrated.

2) cup of green tea in the morning and before bed

Green tea was something I really had to get used to but now I can't go without it. I like to drink one decaffeinated green tea in the morning with a small dab of honey and then a cup of hot green tea before going to bed. Green tea is a natural noninflammatory and aids in weightless.

3) Apple Cider VINEGAR & Water on an empty stomach

Now this is something I just started in my routine. Let me tell you, I have to plug my nose when i drink it and I still can't finish the whole glass of it. It is naaasty. I can't lie to you. The smell of it is...funky but this has helped keep my tummy flat!

4) Eat Breakfast

So important. Years ago, I used to go the whole morning without eating anything because I felt nauseous eating anything before lunch. Now, I have to. I usually have two egg muffins, 1/4 cup of raw cut oats with a half a banana and a dash of cinnamon. Oh yea, and my cup of green tea with honey.

Get my egg muffin recipe here!

5) Take your Vitamins

Vitamins are very important to me, especially as I get older. Make sure to consult your doctor before taking anything. Here is a list of the vitamins that I like to supplement with my meals everyday:

  • fish oil
  • ZMA
  • B12 Super Complex
  • Biotin

If you have any vitamin recommendations, comment below!

6) Green Juice

If you follow my Instagram stories, you know what my green juice is. It's so good and I swear if you're not a salad eating lover, you cannot taste the greens at all. I also like to sprinkle in my favorite collegen mix: Vital Proteins Collegen peptides. Here's my recipe:

  • 1 cup of spinach ( or whatever greens you prefer)
  • 1 cup of coconut water
  • 1 cup of Vital Proteins powder
  • 1/4 cup of frozen mango
  • 1/4 cup of frozen pineapple
  • 1/2 of a banana

7) Treat Yo' Self

I fully believe in treating myself...everyday. Of course it's always good to have restraint and will power, but I make sure to take care of myself everyday. Why? Because ignoring your cravings can backfire on you. I know myself well enough to know that If I want something, I should have moderation of course. I just make sure to balance it out. If I'm going to eat something "bad" I make sure that I even it out by what else I eat or do during the day. I usually eat "bad" on the weekends because it's the freakin weekend! Duh.
