A Step Ahead
Want to stay a step ahead of the game? Well, you need this dress then! There is nothing like a simple black and white stripped dress that can be dressed up or down in different ways. For this look, I went for a more dressed up look...I mean, are you surprised? This striped double-breasted button-up dress is fun & relaxed. Another reason why I love this dress and so will all my other short girls is because they stripes are vertical and not horizontal. The eye is brought up and down rather from side to side. Vertical stripes will always elongate the body. Horizontal stripes lead the eyes outward.
Need to make the look more work appropriate? Unbutton it! Yes, you heard right. Personally, I would wear some black ankle length slacks, a simple blouse, and make this dress into a blazer. You're ready to walk into the office in style.
Now, let's talk about the fishnet trend. It may be one of those accessories you thought that was intimating and never could pull off. Think again! The key to trying trends that are more of a risk is to try it in small doses. I opted for fishnet socks rather than the full stockings. It's still enough to make a statement but not too "out there". Fishnets can add a tough, fashion-forward edge to your favorite fall ensembles.
For accessories, I added a black neck scarf to add a little more flair, this simple and structured purse from Lulus, and black pointed heels. I tied the look together with red lipstick to add more of a punch.
