Desert Spirit

Hey guys!

I just recently got back from a two week road trip and of course I had to go back to Joshua Tree-the land of never-ending yucca trees and a lot of rock formations. It's also a magical place. So how could you not fall in love? Now I understand why the artist Georgia O’Keefe lived in the desert. You can’t help but feel inspired. It’s beautiful.

ANYWAYS…let’s talk about my outfit of choice. Outdoor music festivals like Coachella are synonymous with the western/boho clothing. Collective effervescence if you will. So when thinking of what I was going to wear, I decided to go with something a little boho/western/edgy. I mean, who doesn’t want to look like they just walked out of a Free People ad?

The lace lace dress was something I knew I had to wear - very boho-esque with it’s bell sleeves and scalloped trimming. If you’re feeling daring, wear a bralette underneath to show a little skin. Now this dress is mini so anyone taller than 5’4 may want to wear some cute denim shorts underneath.

I don’t know about you but I have been loving the long belt trend, made popular by “it” brand Off White with their extremely long, caution tape-like industrial belts. I’ve seen them everywhere so why not pair this studded D ring with this feminine lace dress? I’m all about the contrast.

As for shoes, I have been living in these white mid-calf boots. The have those slight western boot feel without going all out. Let me tell you though, they have been a real pain in the a$$ to keep clean but that doesn’t stop me from wearing them. For accessories, I went with these Yoko Ono inspired sunglasses and black hat to top the whole look off.

There you have it! I hope you got some inspiration from this outfit. It’s still totally wearing with summer coming to a close. I mean, it’s still sooo hot. To make it more fall appropriate, just add a cardigan or leather jacket. You’re welcome.
